So today we shall be checking the commands that can be used to check memory usage on a linux system. Memory include RAM and swap.
Dec 29, 2020 · Is it just me, but Memory usage in Tools & Setting is not correct and it is not updating itself upon refresh. Whenever you have some larger processes running then the usage is going up, but it will stay there and never go back to normal before the restart has been applied.
I generally use hdparm to test the speed of disks in Linux. The command I use is: hdparm -tT /dev/sda. This quickly tests the throughput, but I thought I’d share another method which actually puts more strain on the disk. Simply using dd you can run this command to see the write speed: dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=1048576 count=2048

My laptop is a Dell i7 with 16M running on Windows is 10 Home Edition (uptodated), which is constantly overwhelmed by this one process vmmem, which consumes, on a regular basis, 6-7MB of RAM, but it escalates up to 12MB and I just can't tell why.

May 05, 2016 · The CPU usage is high, but it never seems to hit 100% on any core unless I have the game view tab open. This is how it looks in the scene view, with lighting disabled: Oddly, turning the lighting on in the scene view brings the CPU usage down even more, maxing out at about 50% in my case.
